The first week at the JHS Krems was a success! On Monday, we were delighted to warmly welcome both familiar and new faces at Stift Göttweig. It was a joyful reunion for some of us and an exciting start for those students who will accompany us for the first time. Right from the start, we did numerous thrilling activities. From a communal barbecue led by our grill master, Mr. Eckl, to challenging puzzle rallies and exhilarating escape rooms with Miss Kechad and Miss Reed, there was a diverse range of activities to choose from. Our students showcased their sporting prowess in acrobatics with Miss Trümel and on the soccer field with Mr. Talbot in the afternoons. On Wednesday, Miss. Dirr, Miss. Enzinger, Miss. Payer, and Mr. Talbot went on a hike with the second and third grade students to Zellergraben. For our youngest students, the sleepover at Stift Göttweig under the guidance of Miss Kechad and Miss Nachförg was a special highlight. Under the leadership of Father Nikolaus, we even went on a nighttime hike to Saint Georg's Chapel, where he not only showed us the beauty of the surroundings but also provided insights into the life of a Benedictine monk. Special thanks to Father Nikolaus for his time and patience, as he answered all our questions and even shared some secrets with us. In the evening, we gathered around the campfire, told stories, and enjoyed our self-baked campfire bread.

Am Donnerstag ging es dann für manche Kids etwas weniger ausgeschlafen als sonst weiter. 🙂 Wir weihten stolz die wundervoll selbst gestalteten Kreuze und versammelten uns am Nachmittag mit Prior Maximilian zu einer gemeinsamen Messe in unserem schönen Stiftsgarten. Dank einem tollen Elternteam gab es im Anschluss leckere Kuchen und Getränke zur Stärkung. Die zweiten Klassen hatten bereits an diesem Tag die Gelegenheit, dank Frau Kechad sowie Frau Dirr ein köstliches französisches Menü zuzubereiten und dabei nicht nur kulinarische, sondern auch sprachliche Fertigkeiten zu erlernen. Bon appétit! Am Freitag stand für die Dritte Klasse ein spannender Selbstverteidigungskurs am Programm. Gemeinsam mit Frau Payer konnten unsere Schülerinnen und Schüler wichtige Fähigkeiten zur persönlichen Sicherheit erlernen sowie ihr Selbstbewusstsein stärken. Die erste Klasse kreierte mit Frau Spannagl und Miss Reed sommerliche wood perfumes sowie stylische woodland Armbänder.

We are all looking forward to an exciting and educational year at the ISK Krems in 2023/24.
