Hilfe für die Ukraine

Our school, the PVS "International School Krems" has already carried out three great actions to help the crisis-ridden residents of Ukraine, who were surprised by the war in its severity and cruelty.

  • At the end of March we collected clothings for children and women, baby food and hygiene items and transported them directly to the Ukrainian border. We have already reported on this separately.
  • On April 22nd we organized a flea market in our school for the first time. Each child was allowed to sell 10 small goods (books, games, CDs,...) and had to donate half of the proceeds to the project “Neighbors in need”. In Mathematics, the sales price of the goods was determined and price tags were made. In addition, a buffet was organized by the parents, so that the amazing sum of 1,661.14 Euros came together. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the great success of this event. In any case, the children had a lot of fun and they now want to carry out this campaign every year and put it to good use.

  • On April 25th, we participated with a choir of almost 50 children with the support of some children from the Junior High at Göttweig in the benefit concert organized by the diocese of St. Pölten. Our children gave a great performance and, with the support of some musicians, sang the peace songs "We shall overcome" and "You raise me up" which moved some of the audience to tears.

A child in our 4th grade, Yesuntei Damdin, who won first prize in his age group this year at "Prima La Musica", also delighted the prominent audience (including Bishop Dr. Alois Schwarz, LR Martin Aichtinger) with the performance of a sensitive piano piece by Robert Schuman.

We are happy about the willingness of our children and parents to help others!
